Malabar (Calle Camino Real 101, San Isidro) – this upscale minimalist-decored restaurant (which made “50 Best Restaurants in Latin America” list) is known for its ten-course tasting menú. Items worth trying are tiradito (a refined ceviche), freshwater shrimp with yuyo (a type of marine algae), and seafood rice, vongole rice and fish, beef & duck.

La Crocante (Av. Gen. Juan Antonio Pezet, San Isidro) – this is not a regular restaurant, but an upscale delicatessan that serves sandwiches. No doubt, though, its decor gives it away that La Crocante’s specialty is dessert food (cakes and pastries) – which is high-rated by locals.
Hanzo (Av. Primavera 1494, Surco, Lima) – visitors in a mood for Japanese cuisine will not be disappointed going to this restaurant in the upscale Surco district (whose award-winning chef is the rising star, Hajime Kasuga).
